Has anyone had trouble getting there dog to take tramadol pill or liquid?

Our dachshund is l4 years cunning and she has arthritis in her back and hips in the same manner she is in a lot of worry. We can not get her to take one or the other pills or liquid. We have tried hiding it in distinct foods but she always know it there and spits it out. Has anyone otherwise had this problem. Dr. says she of necessity it but we just can't win it down her.
